Yeh totally agree. And the page is really slow too which is annoying to navigate through that... content.. We still have about 20bux in a Caspa wallet with nothing to spend it on because the movies / tv shows suck. I used to enjoy watching the Music Videos and stuff they had on there but that was taken away for some reason. That was really annoying >.<

Agree. It's been crap for months now. Have a look at the TV section especially the SciFi section. Virtually nothing.. Pity TiVo could partner with someone like Netflix ..

It has always been slow possibly because the machine is underpowered. WaSnt TiVo advertised as offering a good selection of downloadable movies and lots of free content. Tvnz on demand definately should be on it as tvnz is a part owner. Prime and Maori tv listings are still not on it which is one reason the uptake has slowed. It is a crippled device due to these problems which are not difficult to fix. I think it could have been a great device for people who didn't want to pay for sky

The only benefit of it I have found over other machines is the ability to copy programs to my computer to watch on my ipad.

I never set up a Caspa wallet becuase of the data consumption, but if there were recent movies to 'hire' I might be persuaded.

Like Skolink, after having a peek out of interest when new, I have not bothered to go back into Caspa. Even then it was clear I could do much better from the local DVD hire shop.

I am satisfied just having a reliable PVR (which is why I purchased it). My guess is as the content was poor, and costs not much better, customers haven't bothered...like any shop if they can't sell the merchandise they won't stock it.

Imagine TV on demand and Netflix on TiVo...now THAT would sell like hot cakes!

Me neither, although I did look what they had to offer, but the TV shows were like $3 each, and movies between $5-7, when you can hire them at the video shop faster and cheaper, as you don't have wait for them to download. Really it should be a set monthly fee like netflix.

I just had a look at their current offerings on Casper, and it does appear to be a very poor selection compared to last year, infact there is nothing on it I would want to pay for and very few new relases. I wonder what is going on. As Tivo is effectively a cloud hosted device, where much of it won't work if tivo suddenly disappeared, I am a little worried if the services are being downgraded.
I want tivo to be successful, as I think it is a good device and has great potential to be a real sky competitor with the on demand movies and tv shows.

At $3 an episode sometimes cheaper to buy box set, don't know what they were thinking. And all old tv programs as well. Some people would have more dvds, at home, then what's in caspas current movie selection. If that's all they can provide don't know why they even try. Later stuff, monthly subscription service and they would've been racing as a lot of people don't want pay start up on sky before they can buy what they want, tivo could've fulled this gap. They've completely mucked it up imo.

Not only that, people would also have newer releases in their home collection too. There must be a reason why this has happened. Anyone know if the Australian one is like this too?

Agreed.

Why can't TIVO devices use eh standard Freeview EPG ?

It's a simpler and more informative interface and carries all channel info.

Probably because the software doesn't allow it and Freeview won't allow it to be certified in it's present format because of the network package..

I have both and prefer the TiVo EPG (except for the Prime/Maori TV point of contention).  It also goes out 2 weeks in advance.

Also the TiVo EPG has alot of extra info it uses for Seasons Passes, wishlists and TiVo's Suggestions.
