It seems that OSX has its own inbuilt pdf renderer (crystal or something) that will open a pdf form and let someone fill it out - but if you send it back to a windows PC user who uses proper adobe reader the form fields look blank, unless you click in each field - then the users data 'sometimes' appears. Often it looks like they are returning a blank pdf form.
I gather the issue is the inbuilt crystal pdf part of OSX uses a subset of the pdf standards so is not compatible with adobe pdf readers
This is driving me nuts!
I suspect that if the mac users installed the adobe pdf product and used that all would be well - but I suspect most of them just click on the pdf file and start bashing away - it looks ok to them so they think all is well.
1) Does anyone else have this issue?
2) Anyone know anyway of making sure that the file can only be opened with adobe reader on a mac and not the inbuilt renderer?
3) Any other suggestions of a way of having a user fillable form that is compaible over the windows/mac platforms?
