Hey

Was off to Aussie this last week and when I got back, I went to take my SD card out of my trusty D90, and the door was snapped in half. Poor me.

Found a youtube vid showing a speedy replacement

Can't find genuine or aftermarket parts in NZ and am waiting to hear back from photowarehouse and Auckland Camera Centre.

Also emailed the macalister group (macalister.co.nz) who are listed on Nikon NZ as the only authorised service centre.

Other option is getting a part from overseas, genuine part is USD 30 to 40 + shipping (ebay).

Any experience with this or anyone know of a place which holds new or second hand parts?

Ebay is generally best for parts like this. Use a hong hong seller, generally cheap but slower.

The NZ Nikon distributer is MacAlister, give them a call about parts.

Thought I'd update the thread
Had it resolved speedily by photowarehouse, they got the genuine part in for me within a few days for $35 incl GST
Was quite easy to fix
Macalister group insisted they fix it themselves and couldn't quote an exact price
Hopefully this will help others in the future with a similar problem

In the US Nikon aren't supplying parts to anyone any more, they want to do all the service themselves.

I have a battery grip at Macalister group at the moment, fingers crossed they can fix it rather than having to buy a new one. When it's attached to the camera the camera won't take photos any more.
