Hello there all

Its my girlfriends birthday soon and she is really into her photography, She has a Canon 1000D with loads of lenses, 2 standard ones and a 1.4 something something haha, she really needs a bag and who better to get her one than me :D

Ive been looking around and most look pretty good. Any users got preference or some that do the job well as in storage and lens spots etc

Thanks for the help

I recently bought a Crumpler Four Million Dollar Home. Excellent bag for my new EOS1100D with twin lens kit. Really good quality materials and construction. Worth spending good $ to get a good quality bag IMO. Check out the Crumpler website, there are many many different models of bags.

Cheers,
Joseph

It depends on the style of bag.

If you think she'll want a top loader with side pouches for lenses then i'd recommend any of the LowePro bags.

If she wants more of a town bag then crumpler certainly make some nice ones.

If you want to spend big $$ then there are some really slick Domke or Billingham bags made from a nice canvas with leather highlights. Very slick but tend to be more for rangefinder users as the larger bags are insanely expensive. I'd recommend not showing her their websites or she might start to want something out of the budget.

Depends what it's for. Storage and transport for all lenses, backpack for camera and a lens or two for a day trip, etc. Need more info.

Good bags are expensive. My latest is a big think tank bag, it's awesome, so well thought out, and takes heaps of stuff. Cost about $500 I think.

I have a medium sized LowePro i'd sell. It'd take two cameras and 4-6 lenses, plus a couple of flashes. It's a rolling backpack.

Disrespective hit the nail on the head when commenting that you need to consider style and size before anything else. Does she want a shoulder bag, backpack, roller style etc?

I am not a pro by any means but have always been served well with Lowerpro branded cases and bags for camera equipment.

My LowePro backpack's good, but the older rolling bag isn't well thought out. Maybe the newer ones are. They're good value usually. ThinkTank are really well designed and thought out.

Buying online from B&H Photo & Video in New York can be cheaper for big bags, but I got mine from Progear in Auckland.

+1 to that.

I have a 1000D twin lens and have a Lowerpro bag. It also has a rain cover that you can pull out from under the bag, so very convenient
