You are using the wrong frequency.

Try 11778000,27500,2/3,V

Much better.

I moved off that frequency due to me using a Mystique Satix S2 card and trying various other combinations. Obviously the problem was with the Satix card.

Luckily I had an older Floppy DTV lying around that works but didn't switch back to the original frequency.

Cheers.

The Collector doesn't work with the Satix tuner at the moment. I'm waiting for one to arrive so that I can sort the problem.

EPG Collector 2.0.17 is now on Sourceforge.

The main features of this release are:

1. Support for DiSEqC switching.
2. Support for the MediaHighway1 and MediaHighway2 EPG protocols.
3 A rewritten GUI program for creating and changing parameter files.

Tuner manufacturers have all implemented DiSEqC in different ways. The Collector has support for a large number of manufacturers with the notable exception of AverMedia for which there is no published interface.

The GUI program has been rewritten and is the preferred way to set up new parameter files. It comes with a complete set of satellite, terrestrial and cable tuning files with the type of EPG preset where it is known.

Don't try and change parameter files created manually with the GUI and conversely don't manually edit GUI created files.

Also - don't forget to backup your exisitng INI file BEFORE upgrading (unless you want to build it again).  We also recommend an uninstall before installing the new version.  One of these days I'll figure out how to make an upgrade package Tongue out

I've only just found this tool and it fits the bill nicely.  Smile

Over here in Oz, each broadcaster in a given area is supposed to, as I understand it, send a complete MHEG5 based guide for all transmissions in that area, ie, park on one 'channel' and you'll be able to see the guide for all.  I've tried pulling the guide data out using epg collector and can extract MHEG5 guide data for each broadcaster, but only while tuned to that broadcaster's transmission.  Setting the allchannels option (may not be the exact option name!) doesn't make any difference.

Is it necessary to tell epg collector to gather MHEG5 data for channels that aren't listed in the DVB SI or will it simply dump out everything it finds?  Is there a switch to make it behave like this, or perhaps a debug option that will show 'everything', raw?

It may well be that the broadcasters in my area simply aren't transmitting a full guide for the other networks.  In fact, one doesn't even seem to be transmitting any MHEG5 based guide, only EIT.

From the testing that Niall (Mr BSEPG) did for us it seems as though the complete EPG for all broadcasters is broadcast on each frequency. The problem is that the SI data available is specific for each frequency so you need to scan all the frequencies.

Here are the frequencies he used.

Frequency:177500,7,MHEG5    // Seven - MHEG5 - Type '1' (7 Digital, 7 Digital HD, 7TWO )
Frequency:191500,7,MHEG5      // Nine - MHEG5 - Type '1' (Nine Digital, Nine Digital HD, GO!)
Frequency:219500,7,MHEG5    // TEN - MHEG5 - Type '1' (TEN Digital, ONE Digital, ONE HD)
Frequency:226500,7,MHEG5    // ABC - MHEG5 - Type '1' (ABC HDTV, ABC1, ABC2, ABC3) -  Type '2' Frequency:536500,7,MHEG5    // SBS - MHEG5 - Type '1' (SBS ONE, SBD HD, SBS TWO, SBS 3, SBS 4) -  Type '2' Audio Services (SBS Radio 1, SBS Radio 2)

These can all go in the same ini file but you will have to add them manually as the GUI currently only allows for one frequency from each type of broadcast. Add them as additional ScanningFrequency lines.

AllChannels isn't applicable to MHEG5 collections.

Let us know how you get on.

Steve.

Is it possible to pre-define the information required to identify each networks channels, ie, network id, channel program number etc rather than scan each frequency for the information? Could I, for instance, scan the complete set of transmissions once, store the relevant info and then use that stored info against the MHEG5 guide data received from a single tuner parked on a single transmission to build a full guide?

I have no doubt that defining each frequency as you mention would work in one invocation of epg collector because it works doing it with a separate invocation per broadcaster.

Unfortunately no but on the plus side each collection is reasonably quick. The list I gave you takes about 3 1/2 minutes to run.

Going a bit OT I know, but are there any debug type options for epg collector that will let it dump out all the MHEG5 guide data found, unfiltered, regardless of what is in the DVB SI at the time? Or alternately, just dump out all the 'files' that are found (obsfucation undone) to separate files on the host PC for post examination?

Sorry to report that this has failed on my attempt to get this working.
When I run the collector it says "Started on 3/7/10" twice and then I get a window "application has stopped responding".

Version 2.0.17 (have also tried the previous version 2.0.16 with same result)
MCE windows 7 (x64) - installed last night with every update possible.
Running 2 x WinTV NOVA-TD-500 cards.

Any help appreciated.
Martin

Hi Martin,

I run the same tuner on Vista (in fact alot of the development was done on it).  Have sent a PM with my email to send me your log and INI file.

Cheers
Brad

Thanks Brad for all your help. Setting the security privileges on the install directory fixed this problem.

Unfortunately no again. There are options to log the protocol and the file structure received but it's only of use to us.

Hi Guys,

With some feedback from the first 2.0.17 users we have just uploaded an update to 2.0.17

Added in this one:
- Scanning : Added section to INI to allow changes to INI without re-scanning.
- Channel Renaming : Allowed spaces

Installed file versions should read 2.0.17.1

Also fixed an issue around MediaHighway with the GUI.

Brad / Steve
