Hi just curious but is anyone using SL on a UFB connection now..??...I was wondering if it speeds up the process/loop...??? I have been using SL for years now and have been wondering if a UFB connection speeds up the response and download side of it....Regards...Laurie
UFB connection will most likely lower latency if your ADSL isn't all that great. From what I understand Second Life is like an MMO? The server that is serving you has more to do with the speed and stability however.
If you have a 20Mbps ADSL line, you will barely notice the difference, especially with interleaving off. If you have something like a 6 or 8 Mbps line, the change would be like night and day.
Downloading of assets/models/textures and updates will be much faster no matter how fast your ADSL. My first comments were referring to general game play. When downloading an update the difference between 19Mb/s and 95Mb/s will be very noticeable.
Sometimes what you don't get it a blessing in disguise!
Just noticed your reply...thanks for the info...... I am on Compass Wireless at 5mb down max and 1mbps up max (waiting for their upgrade to WiMax and faster speeds.. ( I wont touch adsl at all) ...Laurie
