I got some confusing, frustrating and sad news from SNAP this morning.  According to their conversations with the Chorus Fibre Provisioning team, the cabinet servicing my property is not built yet, with an undetermined build date. I am still hopeful that this is more a case of confusion than anything else, but hope is somewhat fading.



Given the mixed message, I can't talk directly to Chorus and I'm not convinced Snap got the complicated message across... I wonder if it's worth getting another ISP to look at it. What are your thoughts?  I know for sure that Fibre exists 3 sections down from me on the same side of the road.  That is the last house of the original street. I am the first house in the new development, but there are 2 empty sections between us. I am really hoping the fibre didn't stop at the old houses.  The development has been there for 2 years, with this spec house just unsold.

Anyway, any suggestions for moving forward appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks to RalphfromSnap & Chorusvan, things seem to be sorted. I'm just waiting to get a booking date and we'll see from there.  I'll let you all know how it finally goes!!

Hi All,

Fibre being installed today

ONT is up and on the wall.  It seems I am the first customer on a cabinet, so some commissioning issues.  Chorus also rather uninterested in some questions, despite Snap telling me they should offer a home networking package.  We'll wait and see about when it works.

Will look at 100/50 if it becomes necessary.  I doubt it makes a difference, but I was first (and currently) only customer on the cabinet.
