Just thought I'd post and say that the UFB in Whangarei is great. WxC aren't one of the ISPs up here that are offering it yet. We have our connection at work with UberGroup and they've just upgraded their plans so we are now on 50mbps up & down with a 150GB data cap and only $99 per month with a free voip line (which we aren't using as we have two VFX lines with WxC.) Here's a quick speedtest done while I was also downloading something else at about 1MB/s and the radio is streaming as well. Computer Repairs Whangarei Remote Support

We have our connection at work with UberGroup and they've just upgraded their plans so we are now on 50mbps up & down with a 150GB data cap and only $99 per month with a free voip line (which we aren't using as we have two VFX lines with WxC.) omg, perfect plan for me. I want one! C'mon AKL central!

I am jealous! 150 GB on Xnet's FTTH plan would cost me $291.00. Plus it's slower. I bet you're happy though ;)

Here's a picture of my mess :D You can see the fibre comes in from the top left and runs down the left and up into the ONT as marked on the right at the bottom. The ONT is sitting behind the 5 port gigabit switch. The other circled device is the Microtik router that UberGroup supplied which connects to the ONT and our 24-port 10/100 switch. The only thing missing is a UPS but we hardly ever get power cuts here in the centre of town so not really fussed about that. As I said it's a mess as I ripped everything out when we changed from ADSL to fibre and changed to the 24 port patch panel on the right. The CAT6 cables were too fat to fit them all in from the top and behind the patch panel hence the reason for the bunch coming down in front and going in the bottom. If I had planned to use the 24 port patch panel from the start I would have brought half the CAT6 cables in from the bottom or the side of the cabinet Computer Repairs Whangarei Remote Support

I would be interested in seeing what plans are available in the range of the average consumers monthly spend. Is it going to be a luxury service or will it be affordable by all?
