Anyone know anything about when things will start moving along in Christchurch?
I presume they'll do it BEFORE they reseal all the roads from the earthquake...

No.
That would mean utilities are working together, in an efficient way.

Thats just silly.

Last I heard, Enabled were doing a ramp up of resources, but with the quakes I suspect it will be a while. Just getting a service connection where they already have network was taking 6 weeks the last time I checked.

As there are still aftershocks and it is an ongoing event, I would think they are waiting, as there is no point in doing expensive work if it is going to be undone by another large aftershock. What do you mean by 'moving along'?

There haven't actually any more earthquakes now that I've been feeling, so i think they'll be pretty safe. They're building new buildings and stuff now too.

Yeah - bugger all 'new' work being done in my area (Sumner). Just yesterday there were guys hanging off the end of a hill blasting loose rock off. Unfortunately the local watering hole sits under that cliff so no beer for a couple of weeks till that is complete apparently. Not good.

Update on chch is that enabled are doing planning.

They're looking at competitive impact, at what technology to use and sorting contracts with CFH.

I've got a call back book for 2 months, which given the scale of the delivery here now, that's actually quite quick.
