I know Skinny is not out yet (but you can buy prepaid topups for them as discussed in other thread)

..but  it would be nice to know the APN/MMS etc settings so I can add them to my website before the launch :-).

I would presume there will be people using the Skinny SIMS in their iPhone/android etc Phones .

or maybe the APN Settings will be the same as XT SIMS ?

AS Skinny runs on the XT network I would assume that they would be the same..

The Apple Bundles can only differentiate between different MNC/MNC's and thats it. If the Settings are the same then its easy.

This means if another Carrier is a MNVO or alike with different settings with the same MCC/MNC then the iPhone can't tell the difference between carriers.

For example with Orcon SIMs which use Vodafone the SIMS can be identified (as it shows different "Line" when you look at the sim settings on the iPhone but it defaults to Vodafone's settings (which are different).

At least with Vodafone MNVO APN Settings can be changed manually  but Telecom (for whatever reason) have asked Apple to in their official Carrier bundles  to hide the settings to be edited by hand.

I put a bug/request into Apple regarding MNVO's and Apple replied that this was not going to be changed as its was "working as designed" . Apple putting in a different carrier bundle for Skinny with the same MCC/MNC as XT (with different settings) is impossible.

The only way to change APN Settings then is to use the method my website uses (which is supported via Apple as the information I used came from their documentation) to set Data APN is the only way.

MMS Settings unfortunately cannot be changed via any kind of config file tho and I enquried to Apple regarding this and all I got was there was a ticket open for them already so it sounds positive that this will be able to be done in future iOS releases.
