Is anyone else experiencing issues with the iPhone 4 on Skinny.  I seem to be on the phone to the help desk all the time.

Problems have included problems receiving calls and texts, and the inability to send texts to people not already in address book / or who have previously sent texts.

Apparently there are 'known issues' at skinny but not really making any progress on these.

Am I alone?  Anyone else had similar and if so...any fixes?

Thanks

Yes...I've looked through all I can see.  There were definitely some problems porting the number, but not all relate to porting and according to the help desk they relate to the iPhone only.

Hi There have been a couple of reported issues with the iPhone 4.

One is that the personal hotspot is not functioning.  We are working with Apple on that.

Another is issues with caller ID not displaying (people see Blocked Number rather than your details).  In Settings->Phone->Show My Caller ID you currently can't change this setting.  We have found the problem with this and are progressing a fix through test at the moment.

There was an issue with texts and calls but this should have been fixed and I have just tested OK.  If you are still having problems then please PM me with some details and I'll get the engineers to do some traces.

Hi,

I also have a iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) on skinny with a 021 number ported from 2degrees (I know...chronic switcher).

The team at skinny were very friendly and efficient.  I will phone them if I get no joy from the experts here.

At first, I couldn't get data and iMessage was working fine.

After running the Skinny iPhone Configuration Utility (from their website), 3G data began working but iMessage stopped.

In settings/messages/Receive At/ the phone number is greyed out and "Verifying".

I can still use my email to send iMessages (like on an iPod Touch) but not through SMS.

Also, when I turn wifi and 3g off, I can txt, but it comes up as a different iMessage account on my wife's phone.

Any clues?

Cheers.

Personal Hotspot is now fixed.

First, update the iPhone to IOS 5.1, which was released yesterday (this adds the option to enter the APN for Internet Tethering). Now go to Settings/General/Network/Mobile Data NetworkSet the APN for Internet Tethering to wapaccess.co.nzAfter this setting is changed, reboot the phone and the Personal Hotspot can be enabled.
