So tomorrow I have an exam, Architectural Technology. I'm a first year architecture student.

I'm doing some revision, practicing past papers and such. I'm stuck on one thing though... loaded dimension.

We're meant to find out the size of a wall stud required for a certain wall in this example building.
To get this, we need to know the height the stud (wall) has to be, the wind zone the building is in, the stud spacing required, and the loaded dimension. But I dont remember what the formula for calculating the loaded dimension of a wall stud is (wood). Could someone help me out? Someone must know surely :S

Nevermind, figured it out. I can't post the diagram here because it's copyright', but:

Loaded Dimension = Member Span (In this case, the span of the roof) / 2.

I knew it was hella simple ><

Thanks anyway :)
