Hi There!

I am wanting to find some outdoors suitable cabinets at waist height, with cupboards underneath. Essentially it's to put prepared or raw food on, before I cook it on the BBQ and somewhere to store my BBQ related accessories. For outdoors use, I thought Kwila, but surprisingly I can't find anything online.

Any bright ideas?

Modern BBqs have that built in, which is probably why you can't find anything. Maybe you could make something out of kwila decking timber. Devon make a lot of kwila furniture.

Yah this is a Weber Charcoal Grill so nothing that works. Unfortunately I lack the skills to make my own.

Really I want a Kitchen Buffet but suitable for outdoors use.

Have a look at your local kitchen / cabinet maker. It may cost a bit more than an 'off the shelf' item, but you will get exactly what you are after.

Man finding someone to do this work is proving to be challenging. What woods or materials are suitable for outdoors use? Stainless isn't suitable as it will get too hot in the heat of summer, and with little kids, it's a danger I can't tolerate. Kwila, but cabinetmakers who deal with that are as rare as rocking horse teeth, teak seems popular but I am not certain it's possible. Concrete is too expensive from what I have seen.

Macrocarpa would likely be a good option.

There's plenty of it and quite a few people that make Mac furniture.

I'd google Macrocarpa Furniture NZ and see what comes up.
