It is very slow compared to some of its competitors.

Hopefully now it is out 2 Degrees will put some effort into making it work more quickly.

The data also seems to be spread out over many screens which also makes it slow and painful to use.

Awesome, iOS app is good. Simple and effective.
One feature request would be to be able to have multiple saved logins... I have one for phone and one for iPad, being able to switch easily would be great.

Otherwise excellent, makes for checking my mobile data balance on the iPad very very easy!

Cheers,
Joseph

Edit... Also making the app iPad native or universal would be great too, but not a big drama as only use it infrequently.

This is working fine on Samsung Galaxy S2. It'd be nice to have a widget that shows the credit, texts, calls minutes and data on it rather than having to open the app all the time but I'm happy they've finally made one.

dontpanic42: Can't log in using the app yet. Perhaps they haven't quite ironed things out completely for launch.

Nope. Still not working for me. Looks like I'll have to call them. :(

I've just been on the phone to 2degrees technical support and it turns out my password was too long for the app. Apparently 18 characters was too many for the app to handle... lol. Oh dear.

It was me who happened to mention that it may have been that my password was too long, and so the very helpful guy on the other end reset to a temporary password, and then I changed it to a shorter password.
I was then able to log in successfully on the app.

The guy said he would circulate that info around the CSRs.

Perhaps an 18 character password may be on the paranoid side ;), but it seems odd that it wasn't worked into the spec of the app considering 18 characters was happily accepted via the web "Your 2degrees" portal.

Hopefully the app is updated to allow for us paranoid types to indulge ourselves. ;)

What you want is "NZ phone account widget" (available on the marketplace) which provides exactly that functionality. Wouldn't be surprised if the next revision of the official 2d app includes this, making the third party app redundant

thats for the app, however i will keep using my previous 2degrees app, having to click forward and back 6 times to get my actual status of minutes, txts and mobile data is a massive time waster

There are some accessibility issues with the iOS app.

The tabs at the bottom of the screen are fine and have text labels associated with them, however, all of the buttons in the app don't have any text that can be read by the iOS screenreader VoiceOver, making it next to impossible to use if you're a VoiceOver user.

Technically this is an easy thing to fix that has a high impact on affected users.

We have just moved our small business account to 2 degrees from Vodafone
Their new Iphone app works well for me.
However our staff are unable to use either the IOS or android apps.
Reply from 2 degrees, have advised at this stage only the account holder can use the app, and they working on a fix, hopefully soon.

The "NZ Phone Account" app is pretty good and the dev is responsive and keeps it up-to-date.

The issue is that to get its data, it has to access the account over the web, meaning it is downloading web pages and parsing them for the data. This is obviously inefficient.

Please tell me the 2degrees "proper" app is getting the data via a better method?

Otherwise this is bizarre, when their entire business is centered on mobile phones, why on earth have they taken so long to do an Android app? And why is there now no widget?
