This looks interesting.
A program that cleans up all the un-needed files on your iPod, iPhone and frees up space.

-----

PhoneClean is the first iPhone, iPad, iPod touch maintenance tool made to free up space and keep iOS devices running fast. This free tool will safely find and remove all kinds of iOS system junk files to cleanup and speedup your idevices, even no jailbreak is required. PhoneClean quickly finds and removes hidden temp files, cleanup corrupt media files produced by iTunes failed syncs, delete cookies and script files on your iPhone before backing it up to iTunes or iCloud to prevent the leak or the abuse of your personal information, deletes cache and offline files in order to keep your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch running fast and safe.

-----

There's a video that shows how it works -

I see my post got shifted. You realize this isn't an iOS app: it runs on Windows or Mac.

Looks dodgy to me. I'll just let the system manage itself I think.

haha you wouldn't believe how broke things are underneath the surface

my ipad is so broke it is now very slow

how do i know it's broke - every so often when i download an app a couple of old apps appear and then tries to download and then disappears

everytime i download an app this message comes out: "app XXX cannot be downloaded."

all the phantoms apps are ones i have deleted long ago.

this app will fix all these junk for me,

but i haven't had the time to backup or do it yet

I used it yesterday and it worked great! I recovered 632MB on my iPod Touch, which is a lot considering I'd only recently updated the OS.

Yes, it lets you control what it is you want to wipe off. It does a scan and reports back before wiping anything then you put check marks next to what you want to delete.

It cleans out junk that's left and stuff that's cached by programs. Also cookies etc. You wouldn't believe how much stuff facebook caches that you can't wipe off (just go to Settings -> General -> Usage to see how much space it uses).

I found it a great program that recovers wasted space, which is always at a premium on an i-device :)
