And rebooting did not fix the issue?
Thats a worry.

No, have not had that issue myself, sorry...

Only issue I get with Facebook app/widget, is when I am out of range of a network connection and it cant connect (like when at work in the middle of the cook straight)...it then fails to work again until I reboot the device and a network connecion is available.

Its an issue with both those apps...they have no editable connectivity settings...so they spit the dummy when they cant connect.

Yeah, choosing the connection is a real issue on the N97 - my only gripe!

I have given up using the FB application. Instead, I just logon using Opera and it tends to show more "news events" than the out-of-the-box FB app.

Fixed, uninstalled both apps and redownloaded them.

http://blogs.nokia.com/nseries/index.php/2009/09/02/nokia-world-updates-n97-mini-unveiling/

So its physically slightly smaller with no sliding camera cover and slightly more convential qwerty keyboard layout, no 5 way button and less memory - i assume thats the Mass memory - wonder what the C:\ and RAM are like?

where abouts would i find the offline mode feature? I had a look round but didnt see it. I tried what seems to be the most useless search app in the world and not suprisingly, that didnt show any options.

Press the on-off button once and scroll through the choice of profiles - Offline is near the bottom.

Alternatively - Menu - Settings - Profiles

Hmmm.....to be honest, I now really don't think there is much more to tell...

Almost eveything that came out of Nokia Wold had alrady been leaked, known for ages...
- N97 Mini
- Nokia Booklet 3G
- X Series a rebrand of the XpressMusic
- N900 tablet
- N97 firmwae update

The only surprises were the 2 X Series mobiles, X3 and X6, X6 has a capacitive touch screen!
Also a couple new apps, and an updated Ovi maps, but they are nothing to get excited about.

The N97 firmware update, is coming later than intially thought, October rather than September...and is supposevly going to include at least:
- Full systemwide kinetic scrolling
- 25-30MB more available RAM freed up (how that is going to be acheived has not been released)
- OTA updates with auto prompts when available

Mark from The Nokia Blog, has posted a video to YouTube showing the new 2.0 firmware update and comparing it to the curent firmware....worth a watch, found here.

Ugh! First N-Gage disapeers...I did not uninstall it...then I noticed I finally had the Ovi Contacts and N-Gage updates display in my SW update app...

Related?...N-Gage disapeers and N-Gage update shows at the same time....hmmmm....

So anyway...I thought, ok, official updates, I will install them....what a HUGE mistake!

On installing Ovi Contacts...I got an installation error, saying it could not execute the file, and that security was restricted? WTF????

Having done that, I then could not go into my contacts without recieving the error 'could not access contacts saved on SIM'....BAH!

Uninstalling Ovi Contacts fixed that...but it looks like it has done other damage...

Now I can not seem to tether my N97 to my PC, so I now have no internet connection on my PC and Big screen....wahhhhhhhhhhh!

Ho hum.

So it looks like I am going to have to reset my N97 again....I was going to do again to give cleab slate to new owner...but looks like this has brought it forward.

Bah!
