I mentioned this on another thread, but I don't know how many saw it, so...

Does anyone know of sites other than HDTracks from which to download high resolution music tracks legally? Quite a few other sites won't supply New Zealand buyers.

Many thanks.

You probably should add you just want the info, not a discussion on copyright as that's where this will end up going :)

Um, why?
I'm talking about legally purchasing music from sites like HDTracks.com.
I am not talking about anything illegal at all.

I asked about any other sites because I'm looking for a good legal hi-res copy of The Flaming Lips' Yoshimi Vs The Pink Robots. HDTracks has it, but it's a bad 5.1 downmix where the vocals and other instruments pan indiscriminately between channels. Many others have mentioned this bad mix (HERE's just one), and you can hear it happen in the samples on HDTracks own site (why they don'y fix it is beyond me)...

Or perhaps I misunderstood and you're talking about copyright between countries etc :)

Yes, your second reply.

Not accusing you of anything, its just whenever someone says something along the lines of "not available in NZ" various people fire up over copyright and the crux of the thread seems to get lost.

BTW I am also interested to find out where to get HD music legally.

I picked up some FLAC albums here:

Sorry, it's not the artist you're after in particular, but I guess it's a start...
