Found a thread similar only a month old but locked...

I need to do a 15M HDMI run from PC to TV, tried a 15M HDMI first. Works fine when going straight into TV but when going into amp get corrupted video and no sound, works if drop down to 720p. Then quickly bought some cheap (yes mistake but wanted this sorted before Xmas) HDMI baluns off Trademe for $30, dual cable and unpowered. Get nothing at all, except flashing HDMI light on amp.

Will try to return the cheap baluns but can someone please recommend an alternative set? Preferably ones they have used themselves over at least 15 metres? Would like to keep the total cost under $100 if possible, wife is getting fed up with how much I've spent so far and still no result...

15M HDMI cable shouldn't be a problem at full HD IF you bought a decent cable.
How much did you pay for the 15M HDMI and where from?

$30 on Trademe, weird how 1080p worked fine directly into TV but not through amp. Would prefer the balun option if possible as ehternet cables will be much easier to hide/put into roof etc.

You can always hit the [REQUEST UNLOCK] button and a mod will unlock old threads.

The drop out when connected to your amp is not surprising, just a 0.05 voltage drop will effect the +5V sense line (the voltage sent out to detect if another HDMI device is connected). The longer the cable, the easier it is to lose signal... and if you put the cable right behind a receiver (full of electrical noise)... well yeah, it's often a pain to get it sorted.
I'd spend more money into an HDMI cable personally, balun's can add more points where things can go wrong.

Single cable ones seem to work much much better than the dual ones IME. The dual ones would work and then the PC would just make the unplugged noise and turn it off, it would come back when I unplugged and replugged it or else powercycled the screen at the other end. It would then go between hours and days before dieing again.
