Hello, I currently read in bed with one of those crappy book lights but my partner complains it keeps her awake, would an e-book overcome this? Or will I still get issues. Also, which ones it best? Looked at a Kindle so far, Thank you

Kindle Paperwhite would be the go. It has an inbuilt light that reflects light down onto the reading surface (as opposed to a back light behind the screen) so it's nice and easy on your eyes. Kindles are fantastic. Nothing better out there for reading books IMO. Twitter: ajobbins

New Kindle Paperwhite is one of new generation ebook readers with a front-lit screen. Supposed to be much easier on the eyes than a back lit display, like a tablet. I would tell you what mine is like but I'm not allowed to open it until Christmas :( Cheers, Joseph

+1 for Paperwhite. Simply the best reader out there at the moment. Amazon has sold every single one they could make so far

+1 for the paperwhite. I gave my wife one for her birthday and both myself and my son whom have earlier models without the light are very jealous. It works very very well. If you use a service like youshop you just send it to the US address and they will forward it on. There are no issues at all with buying books. Just a quick note for eBook owners - you really can't go past Calibre as an application on your laptop/desktop for managing ebooks. I use it to manage ebooks I have purchased and downloaded from other sources (e.g. Smashwords), and of course I can still make regular purchases through my Amazon account. Visit http://www.thecloud.net.nz for New Zealand based Hosted Exchange, Virtual Servers, Web Hosting, FTP Backup & more. The paperwhite sounds great, but I have a Kindle (with the keyboard) with a Kindle cover with built-in light which is fabulous. I also read in bed and was finding the big paperback books very hard to hold for too long. The kindle is my most favoured possession and I wouldn't be without it. Also highly recommend use of Calibre for handling ebooks - wish it would handle audiobooks in the same way but alas.

There is also the Kobo Glo, their new ereader that has built-in led front lights, similar to that of the Paperwhite. The Kobo Glo is sold in store and online at Whitcoulls. Have seen it on the Noel Leeming website but haven't seen it in their stores though. I am considering one of these as a Christmas present over the Paperwhite, seeing as I'd actually be able to get it here before Christmas, and reviews of it make it seem worth it.

Had a look at a few reviews and they all seem pretty solid, likely to go with the Kobo Glo, watched a video of a comparison with a night light (what I currently use) and big difference plus its avail in NZ and I have a cost +% from work at Bond and Bond so it comes to about $182, which isn't bad.
