Anyone got one of these devices and what is your impression of it??

http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/prepaid/mobilebroadband/huawei-mobile-hotspot

I downloaded the user gude but not much info on how to set it up .  The only security seems to be WEP, no mention of WPA /WPA2. Can you login and change the SSID and security or is this thing a hack waiting to happen??

Thanx in advance..

Regards,

Hi Old3eyes,

The Huwawei hotspot can be customized for wpa2 and you can change the SSID.

To do this,

Connect your hotspot to a compatible device.
On your device's web browser, navigate to 192.168.1.1
The username and password are both "admin"

You should now see a range of tabs where you can customize the device.

Cheers
Ron, Telecom Retail
