Still waiting for the call for the Auckland trial! Maybe I was away from the phone when they called? Waiting by the phone now if they want to try again.

I see in the APN setup under bearer that LTE is setup as an option on my S3, don't recall it being there before but could be wrong.

I've ive seen or heard of this is a couple of speedtest pictures on youtube.
I havent seen any fancy PR stuff or videos or photos of the event etc, what gives!

Man 2600mhz seems high. Won't using such high frequencies just cause issues?

The building penetration will be terrible.

The building penetration will be terrible.


When LTE was first ratified no other frequencies were available, a bit like 2100 being used for all 3G in the early days.

Up until a couple of years ago carriers in Europe weren't allowed to use any technology other than what their licence specificed for their spectrum, this means that 3G in the 900 band or LTE in the 1800 band weren't allowed. Most countries have now removed this restriction, so 1800MHz is now going to become the dominant LTE band globally except for the US who don't use this band for mobile.

Woah, 75 down!

I just did a test with the speedtest.net app on my Note II (N7105) and got 12mb down and 1mb up (Auckland CBD).
