Dropping this in off-topic so more people will see bbcode.?Geekzone bbcode is useful for making links and images.?Try it out by replying to this post using bbcode tags and join the l33t ; ?).

Examples:

BBCode can be used in the quick reply box and in the rich editor.

Easier than using a mouse for the same action and useful?when you are on a device which does not support the rich editor.

Good post...

It's already "announced" just above the Quick Reply box - and it works in the text editor as well:

Also, when you upload an image to Geekzone we already give you the code to use - just copy and paste:

When using Speedtest.net click "Share" and they also give you the BBCode ready to copy and paste.

Here is the BBCode reference. Note we only supported the ones listed above the Quick Reply box.

You know what would have made that post easier? A code/unformatted tag - lol : ).

I wonder if a bbcode badge for the url tag would encourage the use. Unformatted links in discussions are a bane.

Perhaps a Help button on the BBCode line after the valid codes which showed the "How to use BBCode for links:" Help gzt posted above would be helpful? For example, I never understood the syntax for a youtube clip as shown in the Help.
