I'd be more in favor of being able to mute someone from further contributing to a given thread if they are given enough dislikes by others active in the thread. 'you have been banned from further contributing to this thread by a jury of your peers'

It's going to become very cliquey here.

Personally, I'm more in favour of the "Ignore" functionality present in other commercial forum scripts. You can ignore a person, but all that happens is instead of seeing their posts you see "1 post(s) ignored from (user). Click here to show anyway" and if you click it the full post appears as if by magic (JS element hiding clearly ;))

As I said, I think people here are under the impressions that "plonk" applies to everyone's view, when in fact it's a user preference - a filtered view.
