You can now opt out of Geekzone Badges in your profile page.

Also there's a new badge (and a few others coming soon) that you only see from IPv6 - I have one!

Also note the badges "disappeared" temporarily at the time I'm posting this, but will reappear shortly. After this, the duplicated badges problem won't happen again.

And Geekzone Badges are all back - except the duplicates now.

freitasm:

Good idea. In our private forums we thought of manual badges - like "Attended Geekzone Pizza" or "KFC or nothing for Nate"...

Yes, as I have been to the Geekzone Pizza nights, it would be great to get one of those badges : )

freitasm: The IPv6 one is good... Only when have IPv6 back on track though.

Yes, I see that you have the IPv6 badge, but we mere mortals can't, since www.geekzoe.co.nz lacks AAAA records at the moment. Frown

That's because we are waiting for Datacom to free up an address for us, since they still don't offer this at their datacentre. I was using a VPN - only way to test. I found a couple of problems since the new login/session management system in place was deployed AFTER we retired our previous IPv6 range. Fixed, working for when IPv6 comes back for us.

Do you get an 'opt-out' badge for that??  Wink

Seriously... it shows you've made a conscious decision on it.

Personally I don't see why all the  badges associated with numbers, posts, time, friend, all have to appear when any relevance is in the tag (or popup) on the badge itself.

Bit like applying for a job 15 years or more into your work life and hi-lighting you got School-Cert.

I like the idea of a self-selected checklist for technology "types" we use - but agree it's not a badge thing.

kind regards Andrew TD
