Folks, I'm planning on taking Geekzone down for about two hours on 1st December 2011, sometime in the afternoon.

Any new features being added or simply a WOF?

I'll be exporting the VMs for a full system backup. No new features or anything exciting, sorry.

Its not possible to do an export (or snapshot) without shutting down the VMs?

I can create snapshots but export requires the VM to be off.

Maybe you should look at sending SMS to all Geekzone subscribers and then some TV ads on channel 1 , 3 , Prime and Billboard ads and also even some radio ads at peak time just before the 6 news morning / night on at least 10 radio stations,

Please don't forget about a banner towed behind a plane in all main centres of NZ adivsing of the outage as well

Might pay to check with Geektastic how else the message could be put out there

Do you not think MF would consider that as Geekzone is his livelihood, so any downtime does mean loss of $$$$$.

There's a virtual reality game called "outside". Apparently the 3D graphics are amazing, but the gameplay sucks sometime.
