Hi All,

I am a new vodafone land line and broadband user started at 26/4. I've just got my 1/5 bill and there 1 part is very confusing. The vodafone customer service told me my payment is cover 1/5 to 31/5 phone usage and 20/4 to 19/5 internet usage. However, the invoice also charge me internet and phone usage from 26/4 to 30/4. I understand the phone part but I don't understand the internet usage since the bill on 1/5 already cover 20/4 to 19/5, so why vodafone charged me internet for 26/4 to 30/4?

Maybe someone would explain that to me? Thanks in advance~~~~

From what I understand you always pay for the month in advance, so you've paid for all of may 1/5-31/5 (for the phone)

and $6.67 from the 26th April to 30th April (for the phone), it looks like the phone usage is charged from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month, whereas the internet usage is for a month starting on the 20/4-19/5

Yes it is confusing, why they just couldn't make both start on the 1st May  and pro-rated both for the part month of April.

Even more confusing is the data usage counter last day of the month is always 28th no matter which month

Part month charge from connection date, I will point this out to the billing team and see if it can be made easier to understand

Vodafone FAB bill 1 month in advance for phone and broadband line rental and 1 month in arrears for toll calls (as these cant be charged in advance)

The first bill will include a part monthly charge for the phone and the broadband from the date you joined during the previous month up to the end of the previous month and then of course there will be the standard charge for the current month in advance.

The data cycle is different though - the data cycle will begin from the time of the month you joined Vodafone - so if you joined on the 14th of the month, your data cycle will start on the 14th of every month but your billing cycle will always be from the 1st to the end of the month. Possibly this is to control network congestion levels but this is just a guess.

I think the confusion here is that you are under the impression you are being billed for the data cycle and the internet separately. This is not the case, the data cycle is just when your data rolls over, you don't get billed for the data cycle.

Also, the "phone usage" in your image would actually be the pack charges - which includes phone and broadband.
