Topic # 107233 8-Aug-2012 17:53 Send private message

Evening,

I'm not 100% sure what settings I'm looking for so I will try my best to explain.

My phone is a Sonim XP5300.

I recently had the phone sent the phone to fonefix to have multiple software issues.

Anyway, whenever I open an application that requires the use of GPS it tells me, "SUPL sever not reachable"

This only happens when I have A-GPS turned on, when I have it off, it doesn't come up with this message.

I can still get a very accurate lock on my position, so gps is working, but I'm assuming that the assisted gps isn't working.

So in the AGPS settings on my phone, I have the follwing settings which can be adjusted, FoneFix already set them up, I will list what they wrote.

The settings are as follows,

Address: Live.Vodafone.Com  (I tried changing the first letters to lowercase, it did nothing)

Data acount: VF WEB (i have three different accounts to choose from which are VF MMS, VF WAP, and VF WEB.

Port: 0

TLS: Off (has option of either on of off)

Any ideas, or help are appreciated.

Kind regards.

Travers.

Hey again,

Just been searching around the interenet, and found the setting for google's supl server.

I entered these settings as follows

Address: supl.google.com
Data account: VF WEB (this is just which data account I use to access the interenet)
Port: 7275 or 7276
TLS : Yes

and when I loaded up an application requiring gps for the first time since changing the settings, it asked me for the certification file to use the google server, and it asks you to to direct it to the location of the certification file I just put in: /data/data/SUPL/googlesupl.dat

I haven't noticed a increases speed in the gps positioning, but it no longer comes up with the alert "SUPL sever not reachable"

I found these settings on a forum where Android OS users where discussing which GPS servers provided the quickest most GPS position.

Just incase anyone has similar issues.

Kind Regards.

Travers.
