Hoping this is the right place for this post.

I'm in New Plymouth on Vodafone ultimate broadband package. Windows 7 toshiba laptop, running google chrome browser but still have crash issues with windows explorer.

Over the last few weeks the tv3 ondemand site has been so awful to use. It crashes every 5 minutes, even in the ad breaks.

Has anyone else had this problem?? Do you know of a fix??

I am on Vodafone and have the same issue with TV3 crashing. I had not considered it was Vodafone specific but could well be.

Have you tested it with Firefox? It sounds like a browser issue.

It's certainly not voda's fault.
TV3s ondemand service is quite possibly the worst online media experience on the internet - anywhere.

Apologies to Vodafone since it dosn't sound like it's their fault. I have tried the site one chrome, firefox & ie so not a browser thing. Unfortunately that leaves me being stuck with tv3 having one of the worst streaming websites ever. I tried tweetin them numerous times but no answer, I assume email will receive the same lack of response. I just can't believe they leave their site being so terrible for so long. Pretty disappointing.

i had similar problems with slingshot/callplus. it turned out to be the transparent proxy causing the issues. ss/cp have bypassed the mediaworks subnet for the transparent proxy and now it works just fine.

in other words, its quite likely that the problem *is* at vodafones end...

I think the problem the OP is referring to is the crash of the flash player.

I use linux and thought the repeated crashes may be due to Flash linx so I submitted a bug report to adobe.
They came back to me and said the issue is not Linux related as they can reproduce the crash (regularly) on other platforms and it is basically a case of a tragic implementation of a flash media player.

They suggested I file a bug report with TV3 - which of course I have tried to do on many many occasions but have not yet once received any form of reply from them.

the problem i had was that every 5 minutes or so (sometimes 2, sometimes 10) the stream would simply hang.  the only way to get it started again was to refresh the page.  This was more successful in chrome than IE - but it used to hang in both.

the solution was to bypass the transparent proxy at the slingshot/callplus end.  as soon as that happened, the streams worked perfectly for hours on end in either browser.

refer http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=81&topicid=92830&page_no=4#669368 for the slingshot thread
