So Vodafone have released the details for their new subsidised iPhone 5 preorder deal.
Minimum monthly plan is $80, with 1GB data, 100 mins, 2500 txts. $400 off the phone price. (16GB Model)

I wont be going anywhere near this as I don't want to spend more than about $40 per month.
Quite disappointed, but on the plus side I wont feel bad about keeping my grandfathered 3GB data plan. Pretty sad how we've gone backwards after 2 years.

I'm on same sentimental as you.. I'm debating whether it would just be wise or more bang-for-bucks that I'm keeping my Smart2 and get iPhone5 outright.

The Smart Data $80 sounds good and with generous mobile discount BUT it's not that great compare to my grandfathered Smart2 with 3GB, 2500 TXTs, 1000 PXTs, 60Mins - I don't call much at all - and I'm get one free BestMate (despite not NZBestMate) for $61.30, and have PhoneInsure for $11.45, totalled at $72.75 per month.

:-(

As long as my current PhoneInsure subscription that I'm using now can be carried over to cover iPhone5 without hassle then that's sweet.

loganjames: this will be the first time that we'll have 2 carriers offering the iPhone on launch day

Not true. Telecom and Vodafone both had the iPhone 4S on launch day.
