Just received:

Forget kilobytes and gigabytes, Vodafone has launched its biggest data allowance yet – a massive one terabyte of data – for only $20 extra a month.

Business Broadband Daytime gives business customers one terabyte of data between 8am and 6pm, 7 days a week, and 10GB outside these hours.

Business owners, previously challenged by data caps, no longer need to worry about sending large files, using the internet and making frequent downloads.

General Manager of Business Marketing, Becky Lloyd, says this is Vodafone’s best business broadband deal yet.

“With such a huge allowance, business owners can simply get on with running their company.  We know businesses need to capture, store and transfer data which means they need a big data cap. Cloud-based services are becoming increasingly attractive as businesses look for solutions to cut costs and improve security.  A massive one terabyte of data makes using the cloud a simple solution, at a truly affordable price.”

Customers on Vodafone’s Business Broadband 2 plan pay an additional $20 per month to receive a terabyte of data delivered with maximum upload and download speeds, a free wireless modem, 10 e-mail addresses,  30MB of free web space and spam and virus protection.

Hmmmm. Only 10GB out of business hours?

Needs more out of hours data since thats the only time you can upload stuff on slow as ADSL. Thats when all the mail outs happen to avoid choking things up too.

Putting that in context - 10GB is all you get on that plan anyway: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/business/broadband/

Maybe it is to try and separate out residential customers from applying for the 1TB business plan?

The primary aim will be retaining existing business customers and signing new customers ahead of competitive offers expected elsewhere.

Many businesses are small home based businesses that operate outside the 8-6 time frame. A pity it doesn't include those, as they are what NZ are built on.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just get a residential plan? Did I miss something?

My office is running on a 120GB Telecom connection + 60GB with Orcon simply because Telecom won't let us buy more bundled data so we're paying hundreds per month in overages. We're open 9-5, so 1TB during these hours would help out a lot. For the amount of usage we do fiber would benefit us greatly, however we aren't in a UFB area which just makes everything drastically costly.

I'll speak to the person in charge of the Internet connection(s). We do use a fair bit after hours is the only issue, 10GB isn't enough at all.
