I'm thinking of porting over from 2degrees, just because I've had quite a few issues with them lately.

What I'm wondering is, if I were to port my number over to Vodafone (I know you would usually port the prefix too), would I be able to change to a vodafone prefix? I don't really mind "starting over", cause I can give my friends my new number - it's really no problem..but if I buy a vodafone sim card, then obviously I won't have my number with me. I'll have to pick a completely random number - if you get what I mean... I want the last 7 digits of my current number, but just change the prefix.

Not sure, but is that even possible?

Thanks

Hi Redeye52

If you port a mobile number you take the whole mobile number as you already know, PM me the number you would like and I can take a look to see what we can do for you

It would be possible if the number (with the Vodafone prefix) isn't taken yet. But in this case you wouldn't port - why not just walk to a Vodafone shop and get the number there and now instead?

Porting is a process that takes the whole number - prefix and all. This is the only benefit, so porting is not of any use if you just want the same number with other prefix.

John can probably tell you via PM if the number is available or not, in which case you can just get it.

Hi Redeye52

Would you mind PMing your # and the issues you had so I can look into if there's something we could have done better? I'd like to know what made you want to change to Vodafone.

Cheers
