I have just signed up for VF Naked VDSL.
Is there voice adaptor that will work with the VF provided modem.
My wife is not quite ready to loose her traditional phone.

Get POTS with VDSL??

Any SIP device that runs over the Ethernet as a standalone device should function fine.

Sounds like you probably want to look at VOIP providers (2talk, wxc, etc) and a standalone ATA.

(^ i.e. What TimA said but in different words? ;-) )

Just switch back to non-naked.
Naked is for people who don't want a landline.
You do want a landline, so don't get naked.

It will cost you $20 more than you pay today. A VoIP service can be had for $10 but isn't as simple to do as a normal landline.

$25 a month with Naked discount and the convenience of a cordless phone. It's pretty choice. :)

Going to non-naked would only cost $20 and be a real landline rather than using the mob network.

Happy Wife, Happy Life

It will cost you less hassle and time if you get POTS. Its just $20 more and you get those best mates etc with it.

Go naked and sip.
You can bring your landline anywhere in the world.

I'm using vodafone's provided modem (Huawei HG556a) as the ATA.
Plus $10/mo for 2Talk service.

I just joined Vodafone VDSL as well and have gone with a normal phone line to keep the wife happy.

She never liked the VOIP we currently have; intermittent hang-ups when answering the phone, occasional lags like an old long distance call, voice quality poor when the internet is getting hammered by the kids.

Better to spend $10/mth more and have no hassles.

Definitely go with VoIP. POTS is for old people, those who live in the wilderness, or those who like to spend lots of money unnecessarily. I have an ATA set up for WXC and a SIP phone for 2talk. Both work flawlessly and the sound quality is excellent.

Thanks to you Voip fans.

I am 70 years young (DrCheese) and think its time for naked & Voip.

Would this be a workable solution:
 1) ATA2102 from i.e. nicegear  2) Vodafone VDLS modem Huwaie HG659 (have ordered today, been waiting for Vodafone)  3) Voip service from 2Talk (considering the $10 service)

 4) Plug existing cordless phone station into the ATA2102

if this works, happy wife, happy me.

update:

From: nicegear:
The SPA2102 has been discontinued and replaced with the SPA122 which
will work fine with 2Talk.
I can't confirm about the Vodafone modem unfortunately.

As a extra note have vfnz naked and VoIP with 2 talk and Vodafone want to charge me $52 to port my number back in. As seems easy to have home phone option. Needless to say I'm staying on VoIP and find a adaptor or may look at other provider for vdsl

Lippex666, do you mean if you want to change from naked back to home phone VF charge $52.
VF told me while I was signing up for naked VDSL that if I wanted to change back to home phone it would cost $55+Gst to re-connect the phone..
