Topic # 139519 11-Feb-2014 20:26 Send private message

Vodafone has been playing drama with me for almost more than 1 month now.

  • My ADSL was having speed issue where ever day from 9 to 11pm and any random time during the day it goes slow to less than dialup speed with Ping 420ms
  • reported this and no one able to resolve this.
  • being told that you can go to VDSL
  • asked for VDSL quota to match up with my current quota (400GB) and been told that it is 250GB only and can't do some thing special to me despite i was having connection issue for last 1 month and look like vodafone don't care
  • agreed for connection and got letter today that my current ADSL connection will be 500GB from next month.
  • called again to ask them to give me same quota on VDSL
  • once again vodafone says that they can't do this at the moment?????!!!!!!
  • look like what you need and when you need Vodafone don't provide you and when you don't need only that time they will offer you.
  • don't understand that when i have already received letter that my connection will be 500GB from next month then what's the trouble on VDSL connection with same quota.

Don't recommend Vodafone to any one, any of my friends and family member not even stranger to connect with vodafone.

I have been talking to their retention staff, manager and CSR but no one able to compensate me for the connection issue I am going through last 1 month with Vodafone. Shame Vodafone Shame on you...................You are true ripoff

Hello... Our robot found some keywords in your post, so here is an automated reply with some important things to note regarding broadband speeds.

If you are posting regarding DSL speeds please check that

- you have reset your modem and router
- your PC (or other PCs in your LAN) is not downloading large files when you are testing - you are not being throttled by your ISP due to going over the monthly cap
- your tests are always done on an ethernet connection to the router - do not use wireless for testing
- you read this topic and follow the instructions there.

Make sure you provide information for other users to help you. If you have not already done it, please EDIT your post and add this now:

- Your ISP and plan
- Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL)
- Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin)
- Your general location (or street)
- If you are rural or urban
- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin
- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service
- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

I recommend you read these two blog posts:

- Is your premises phone wiring impacting your broadband performance? (very technical)
- Are you receiving a substandard ULL ADSL2+ connection from your ISP?

I am the Geekzone Robot and I am here to help. I am from the Internet. I do not interact. Do not expect other replies from me.

  • My ADSL was having speed issue where ever day from 9 to 11pm and any random time during the day it goes slow to less than dialup speed with Ping 420ms
It has been determined that there is uplink saturation causing this to happen.
  • reported this and no one able to resolve this.
As comment above
  • being told that you can go to VDSL
Your VDSL order is processing.
  • asked for VDSL quota to match up with my current quota (400GB) and been told that it is 250GB only and can't do some thing special to me despite i was having connection issue for last 1 month and look like vodafone don't care
Current plans are not the same as legacy plans with the double your data options.
  • agreed for connection and got letter today that my current ADSL connection will be 500GB from next month.
We are migrating old legacy ADSL customers to new plans, You were in the group for a 500GB migration
  • called again to ask them to give me same quota on VDSL
VDSL hasnt got a migration date as all plans for VDSla re current
  • once again vodafone says that they can't do this at the moment?????!!!!!!
As above
  • look like what you need and when you need Vodafone don't provide you and when you don't need only that time they will offer you.
  • don't understand that when i have already received letter that my connection will be 500GB from next month then what's the trouble on VDSL connection with same quota.

This was for an ADSL migration onto a new plan not yet for VDSL.

I think you are over reacting and need to listen to what you are being told, some things can happen others can't its not a rip off just not what you want.

Certainly doesn't mean they are a rip off or should be ashamed, if anyone needs to you do for a first post such as yours

To the OP.

First question in order to make things clear is about your intentions. Do you want some help with this issue or just use the forum as a soapbox?

Also it seems some of these things are being acted upon already. Perhaps we should wait for the outcome of the current activities and then review this?

Can you please post an update?

Obviously you want to have proper service. But it will go a long way around here if you actually read the questions asked and answer them. I asked what you wanted to achieve here. If you want help then help us by providing information. If you want a soapbox, this is not the place for it.
