So,, you imported your phone from the back blocks of indonesia or from Parallel imported, you might need these general settings, A dealer will charge you $50 which they have every right to,.

DISCLAIMER: If you phone is not a locally sold Vodafone LIVE! handset, you will NOT get the full colour Vodafone LIVE Webpage but will see a simplified version instead!!!
NOTE: This cannot be fixed....

How to set this up.....
You will need to setup 2 data accounts and one "mms" account
Call first data account "VFNZ GW" (for a normal WAP phone and make MMS use this account)
Call second "VFNZ Internet" (for email and laptop data)

For WAP & MMS you need to set it to data account "VFNZ GW"
for everything else you need to set to "VFNZ Internet"

IMPORTANT... GO THROUGH SETUP DATA ACCOUNTS AND FOLLOW THE SUGGESTED ENTRIES EXACTLY:!

if it asks for "apn","access point name"
live.vodafone.com <---- For a normal WAP or PXT setup [VFNZ GW]
www.vodafone.net.nz <----- For eMail client setup, data through your Laptop [VFNZ Internet]

if it asks for "ip","internet protocol"
172.030.038.003 (don't put in anything for a 3g phone!!!)
172.030.038.003:9201 <---Only rarely and only if above does not work!!!!!!

if it asks for "PORT","Port number"
9201, 09201 (Whatever fits)

if it asks for "home page","start page"
live.vodafone.com

if it asks for "connection type","access method"
GPRS (never CSD)

if it asks for "username","accessname"
MUST be blank, IE: nothing entered

if it asks for "password","passcode"
MUST be blank, IE: nothing entered

if it asks for "MMS server","mms URL", "Multimedia relay", "mms relay", "mmsRelay", "relay server URL"
pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend
pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend:9201 <--- IN ENTREMELY RARE CASES ONLY

For the MMS, set the IP's to the same as above.

Good Luck!!!!!

I added this in the hope that not every second posting will be

"I CAN'T GET VODAFONE LIVE TO WORK ON MY IMPORTED PHONE"
"help with GPRS Sharp XXX"
"Can't do XYZ GPRS with XXX phone"

I hope it's of some use and I can post the full Australian Settings among other usefil tidbits (impossible to get) if anyone so desires as i'm out of this game now. (To concentrate on new career path)

If you bought a Siemens phone, you don't have to do that. Just go to www.my-siemens.com and select 'Customer Care' then click on 'Setting configurator' then follow instructions. They send you a data file straight away to your phone via sms, it's free. You just open the sms and then it disappears and your settings are correct for NZ voda.

Sorry it can't. Not even my i-mate pocket PC can.. This won't even access the "limited" version. I just get a blank page. The "official" word is NO and Never

That is unless you can make PIE identify itself as a supported phone in the core setting (hex editing and registry change) though I'm sure they must check the IMEI of the phone to see if it's supported.

Being a sharp and the weird things that are,, just put it in. try putting both the ":9201" or ":8080" and the end of the IP address or take it off if (just the IP address) if you have no luck.
