Does anyone know about/use Airstream? http://www.airstream.net.nz

It appears as though they would cover where I live with their wireless Internet but I have had no response to any emails or voice message....

TIA,
Bart

They appear to source their bandwidth and ip ranges through Inspire. I have heard a few people mention them before, but never actually seen a connection in action, so I can't comment on what the service is like.

Where are you located? There are a few providers supplying rural areas of the Manawatu now.

On the backroad to Hunterville - 30km from Wanganui... in a valley with hills all around except for a gap right about where one of Airstream's transmitters are...

Hmm AFAIK Airstream is probably your only option up there - besides DSL (if you can get it) or Satellite.

DSL... hahahahahaha... when it rains we loose our phone line until the water drains out of it...
Satellite - we have hills in all the wrong places...

It would be nice to hear back from them but maybe they don't need any more customers?

I spoke to a customer on Airstream the otherday. Out of two weeks he has had two days of connectivity. If/when they get in touch with you, I would ask to speak to a range of customers throuout there coverage areas just to check them out...

FX networks have a POP in Huntervill, so a few strategicly placed wirless ap/repeater sites and several thousand $$ a month might get you somehwere:)
