gchiu: Sounds complicated.

PBX's aren't designed to be simple! Smile

I've been using Asterisk for 8 years now so know it back to front. Trying to explain concepts to somebody though is an entirely different thing.

Well, I checked the asterix log and nothing is coming my way when I try to call the number.
The vfx portal shows the phone registered

URI:sip:4XXXXX@10.64.1.50:5060;transport=udp;rinstance=4f8fa03a1a36dc93Expiration:Thu Apr 19 20:21:50 NZST 2012
so I think this must be a firewall or nat issue.

I did some testing of this hypothesis by putting the asterix box into the DMZ and still no SIP traffic received.  I checked with the WXC help desk and the person there thought there might be a fault as he could not see any data either.  So, it's been logged as a possible fault.  Have to wait for VFX techs tomorrow to establish if it is a fault, or just misconfig on my part somewhere.

Been told that my original Linksys device which had two lines on it is still trying to register both numbers when it should now only be registering one.   So, have to factory reset and reprovision the line remaining, and see if it fixes the problem.

It will, your inbound calls are being intercepted by the wrtp54g you have so as it has the same details as your Open VFX setup

I take it that this line on the WRTP54g is still locked with an admin password so that I can not change this without a factory reset?

I disconnected the WRTPG from the network, and placed my asterisk box into the DmZ.  My phones are registered as is the sip trunk.  I called it from my landline and got a disconnected tone. A call notify email arrives to tell me that someone called the number.  I guess I need to talk to a tech person again.

Yes, I've now started to see some sip traffic arrive so I can work on this further now.  Strangely i did not see any traffic when I did the test above. Thanks.

Making headway here.  I can now accept incoming calls, or send them to directory which then rings the appropriate phone.  I did have codec errors so disallowed the G729 and it started to work.

Good to hear, G729 is a licensed codec so I'm guessing you wont have purchased this.

No, I hadn't got as far as deciding whether I needed it or not so had not purchased a license.  The SPA303 would seem to support G729 but it looks as though asterix needs it as well and as i had it configured did not pass it thru.

I assumed that i didn't need "58.28.20.150 as.wxcnz.net"  as the details I was sent said "host=pan.wxnz.net" which is resolvable.   But no, I still needed that in the hosts file.

I also plugged back my WRTP54G and everything is still working without me having to factory reset it.
