I was given a TG582n (Telecom) which I had difficulty configuring for VFX.  I changed the firewall to standard, and opened up port 5060 to forward to my asterisk box.  But although I can register 2talk, VFX won't register.  It just times out according to the asterisk logs.

I changed to a Netcomm NB14 and with that I don't have an issue registering.

But on speed tests, the TG582n on xnet has a download speed of 8Mbs ( might have been 10 ) and the NB14 only 6Mbs.  So, I'd prefer to use the faster one if I can.

So, anyone used a TG582n with VFX and asterisk?

If you are serious about using asterisk then get yourself a real router that supports NAT properly and don't forward any ports.
Best bang for your buck as far as a router goes is a Mikrotik but you will need a modem.

Yes, I do need a modem and from using these two, the Telecom supplied one is so much faster than the Netcomm one. I need to work with what I've got for the moment, so anyone know what configuration changes I have to make to get the Telecom one to work with VFX?
