I rang TCL last week to upgrade my plan from 60gb to 90gb, and was told it would be done over the weekend. Hadn't been done today so I rang back. Was told that the delay was because the 90gb plan was no longer available, ditto the 120gb plan. Instead they are putting me on a 100mb/sec, 100gb plan for $115 a month, but that it will require a new modem install (makes sense if DOCSIS3). Any official comment from TCL on this?

I'm also interested to see if they offer an unlimited data plan for a price competitive with UFB, because we all know of the public unmetered weekend, and I've heard rumours of a select few testing an uncapped 24/7 plan for TCL.

I can't see an increase of 10gb lasting very long at those speeds. Hell you could blow 100gb in a couple of days if you were trying.

I was on the Docsis 100mb trial way back and tbh the speed increase does very little. You are still constrained by the other end. The unlimited traffic then was nice tho :D

100 GB for $115 is still the same old pricing as the current 120 GB plan for $135. (plus 20 GB overage for $30) I don't care at all about 100 Mbps instead of 25 Mbps. I want CHEAPER GB. My modem is already doing 300+ GB per month at the current 25 Mbps ? and was at 15 Mbps before that. Al that the speed means is it's gone from 7% utilization to 4%, and 100 Mbps would be 1% utilization. What I want is to pay ~$100/month for that usage, not $400+ as at the moment.

Or move to somewhere that will get UFB sooner? That usage on ADSL would be cheaper. Maxnet unlimited naked DSL is $125/mo (and slingshot is $90), which is less than half of what your overage charges are. Of course it may not be as fast, and you only get 1Mbps up :-( (I'm stuck on ADSL despite TCL being in our street, they say our house is too low for the cable to reach it or something)

I definitely do NOT want unlimited anything. It will always suck. I want decent speed and am happy to pay for what I use. However per GB prices for additional data have not come down in something like five years, which seems wrong. Houses 50m-100m from me to the east, to the north, and to the west will have UFB in July. But not my street (which is the only one with cable). I have excellent line of sight to probably ten houses on those streets. If TC prices don't move by then I'll definitely have a talk with one of them. I already have a 70 Mbps WIFI link across to a friend in Grenada and share my cable with them, so another shorter link is no problem technically or splitting the bill wise.
