Tried looking on the website but couldn't find anything. Does it cost anything to sign up for TCs cable broadband? Alternatively is there a fixed term break fee on it?

Thanks.

Hi Jon. You're best to call and speak to one of the sales team about the many options and they'll be able to tell you exactly what applies to the services you want: 0508 888 800

Cheers, Gary

Thanks.

Just interested to see that I could close my account and re-sign to save the $60 moving cost...

Apart from me assuming that a weeks notice of a move would be enough, they have been ok so far.

Although I do attempt to make sure when the tech visits I can make sure his job is as easy as possible...

And their staff aren't very useful, it is quite common to get this type of conversation:

"Can you tell me about this"
"Sorry I can't, I will transfer you to ... team"
Commence hold muzac

TelstraClear have a kiosk upstairs in the Riccarton mall if you want to go speak to someone in person :)

I know someone up there gave me a free install on cable as part of a new sign up.

Thanks, I was thinking of cruising on the InterIslander. This is an extra incentive.

Yep, just wanted to make the point that there was an option to sign up for free but no option to move house for free...

There's an option to some services signing up with free connection but it doesn't mean it's applicable to everyone in every situation and with every service. It all depends on the above I suppose. But if you were not aware - this is pretty much the same for every single ISP in New Zealand. Although very few if any can do completely free connections anyway.
