A truck brought down my cable from the street pole on sat and Telstra say I have to pay to have it reconnected.neighbor saw it happen but got no details.cable was dangerously low already.am I responsible .i have been a customer in wgtn for 12 years.if I have to pay I figure I will disconnect and go for another provider who offers ph and net and get sky separate.suggestions? Advice needed. Im in newtown Wellington

Not sure about the Telstraclear cable network but for the phone network Chorus don't charge you for reconnecting a downed line unless you specifically caused it.

Where does the cable run and where did the cut occur - we know that its the feed to your house, but did the 'incident' occur on the roadway or on your property?

The TC cable servicing our neighbours house has come off the pole twice due to high winds and landed across our lawn.  TC were dreadful to deal with to get it fixed (I posted a thread about it here a while ago) but the TC rep who replied previously in this thread sorted it out.  He's a good bloke.  Good luck.
