langers1972: Gary, got a request for a new feature/enhancement that I think would appeal to most subscribers.

Is there any chance that multiple recordings of the same show from a Series link could have the option to be placed in a 'folder' in the planner that could be expanded with a key press or function as it is really clunky to navigate through them all?

Update. I haven't had to reboot for several weeks now but still have momentary freezes. My main gripe at present is that it takes up to 15 seconds to change channels, that doesn't sound long, but believe me, it is when you want to change channels in a hurry. Anyone else have this problem?.

Hi Fog, it only takes 3 to 4 secs here to change channel, whether I use the channel up and down buttons, or key in the three digit number of the channel.  You aren't using single digits are you?  That makes it slower as the system waits for you to put three in, as I understand it.

Yes I have noticed this as well. The latest update has meant I need to reboot a lot less often, but on occasion when it has been up for a long time (long = a number of weeks) I notice it takes an age to change channels.

A reboot fixes it.

That is interesting. We use the three digit number to change.  I have timed it on several occasions and it takes from 12 to 15 seconds to change.  I wouldn"t have a clue how to rectify the problem.

I just did a reboot and it has made very little difference. It still takes far too long to change channels. Guess we will just have to put up with it until such time as someone can write a decent programme eh?. Perhaps I expect too much from the T/Box.

Everything is slow: I avoid 'Record the series' now because 'searching for program links' can hang for 30 seconds, or more. 

There is a Progress banner that appears when rewinding or fast forwarding programmes on the disk.
This banner is not controlled from the menu choice for duration of banners.
Mine currently sits on the screen for 30 seconds (I timed it) after pressing 'play'. It obscures part of the picture. Very annoying.

Several months ago, I was advised by the Call Centre to disconnect the HDMI cables out of the TBox. I did so, and haven't had a single crash since then! Normally, I had 2 or 3 crashes per week, usually while attempting to record programmes. Now, even simultaneous recordings are working.  I have yet to try reconnecting the HDMI.

Why doesn't Sky link recordings to programmes rather than times? When live snooker overran the scheduled time, the recording just stopped. I don't understand why, when programmes begin and end, the broadcaster can't automatically send start and stop signals to our recorders.

I too have the slow response when changing channels and the fast-forward and rewind banner display's on screen for ages. It's not a new problem - it was an issue back before this update and a reboot used to fix it for me then. I haven't rebooted mine for several weeks, and it needs it. My problem is the Tbox displays don't always comne back after a reboot - something to do with the HDMI not liking my splitter and TV.

A couple of feature requests:

  1. Keep recording the live TV channel when watching something in the planner.
  2. Enable internet access to program recordings like iSky
  3. Enable the USB ports!

Wouldn't have got this installed if I knew it would be like this.

Got rang up with an offer to have T-box installed for free and sky free for 2 months also that I'd get credited a months worth of my Internet/Phone, was also told that I could cancel it within 2 months if I didn't like it only to find out yesterday via a customer service rep online that this wasn't true.

My issues with the T-Box/Sky so far are changing channels takes stupidly long, up to 10 seconds (even after updates/reboots/etc/etc).  Also the T-box doesn't like to react to the power button and sometimes gets in an endless loop of turning off then back on.

Last night I had two recordings fail due to insufficient signal strength.  I have never seen this before.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I tested it after by recording two programs and checking the signal strength.  Everything looked fine. 

I am wondering if there was a blip in the signal from TCL last night?

So that means you aren't actually watching your T-box at all? I think disconnecting the HDMI cable (and never reconnecting it) may fix all our problems!
