The Windows 8 Upgrade offer ends on Jan 31st, so if you were planning to upgrade to Windows 8, now is the time to do it, as of the 1st of February the upgrade price will be same as Windows 7 pricing.

Indeed. Im urging everyone I know who has recently purchased a PC to claim this offer but not necessarily install it right away. The pricing Micro$oft wants for this is RIDICULOUS!

Although you do need toinstall it if you also want to qualify for the free windows media centre key, as that must be activated by the 31st according to the website, otherwise the key won't work. Don't know why microsoft are requiring this.

Looks like a marketing strategy to me; people are most likely to buy something when they think that it's a good deal, so by announcing a price hike anyone "on the fence" is likely to grab Win 8 now while it's cheap.
