I just moved my iTunes library from a soon to be sold Mac.

The library included a number of my own CD's which were loaded on and matched in iTunes Match. However since streaming the music is unreliable I wanted the actual files on the new Mac.

For some reason, none of the CD files have come across from the old Mac and it just keeps asking me to locate them.

I moved the whole iTunes folder across, so I would have thought that they ought to have come with that.

Anyone have any idea why they have not or where they are?

New Mac has no optical drive so uploading them again will be a PITA!

Did you just copy the iTunes Music folder from the old computer to the new one?

If so are all the files actually in their respective sub-folders?

If they're there, then it's just a case of pointing the new iTunes instance to the files by modifying the iTunes library path in the iTunes settings, and perhaps using the Consolidate Library option to make it scan all the library files and match with their hdd location.

Also it depends on how you were importing music into the original library - did you have the "Copy to iTunes Library" option selected in the Import settings? If not the music files would exist wherever they were imported rather than in the library folder itself.
