So you've got that VPN or Fyx connection and now you need some sites to use: Movies/TV: Hulu and Hulu Plus. Hulu Plus requires a subscription Netflix: TV and Movies, Classics to present. Some content in HD and 5.1. Needs a paid subscription Crackle.com: TV Shows and Movies. Free to access ITV.com: ITV Player shows such as Penn and Teller Fool Us BBC iPlayer: CBS.com Video: Big Bang Theory, CSI, Two and a Half Men and more here. TBS.com Video: Shows such as The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, American Dad ABC.go.com: Shows like Suburgatory, Modern Family au.tv.yahoo.com: Watch later episodes of programmes like Home and Away, Packed to the Rafters NBC.com Video Library: 30 Rock, The A-Team and more here thewb.com: Shows like Gilligans Island, One Tree Hill USA Network: Psych and more Universalsports.com: Seems to be just highlights of various sports Channel4.com 4oD: Allan Carr, Come Dine with Me and lots of other interesting TV The above are just some of the sites that have video on demand. There are others, but they require a cable subscription to be able to view. Music: Pandora: Choose your artist and it will play them along with similar style artists Songza: 100% free, Music playlists by experts, No audio ads. Definitely worth a look Turntable: Play Music together. Requires a Facebook or Twitter account Slacker.com AOL Radio Jango: Like Pandora but with unlimited skips. Recommended There are others, but easy to find, especially if you use Chrome Browser with the similar pages extension. Apple: Have it their way Android: Have it your way

That is a great list you have wrote up. I will just point out unlike other services 4od has pretty much their whole back catalogue as well, some really fantastic British TV on their. The main thing which is missing from all these services is Live Sport. Or just sport in general. Seems like their is a gap in the market here, only problem is sports licencing is so expensive I don't know if it is feasible.

Now all you need is a Roku 2 box and you'd have a fairly nice setup for your TV.

theres also vudu.com which i use to watch movies that arent yet out on netflix, or new episodes of the walking dead (among other tv series that arent available freely) www.reven.co.nz

Then there's also Amazon Instant Video which costs $69(US)/year and you get free two day shipping in the US. Might be useful if you have a friend there who shops from Amazon enough to use this and then you can use the account for viewing their content :-) An an aside I think the only device that does all the main players like Hulu+ Amazon IV Vudu Netflix is the PS3. System One: Popcorn Hour A200, PS3 (US 60G) dead and now replaced with a PS3 SuperSlim, NPVR running on Sempron 3000 (XP), Sony BDP-S390 BD player, Logitech Revue, Pioneer AVR, JVC 56" D-ILA 720P RP TV System Two: Popcorn Hour A110 , Oppo BDP-80 BluRay Player with hardware mode to be region free, Vivitek HD1080P 1080P DLP projector with 100" screen. I just found a whole lot of good stuff on 4od -- many shows I have seen before but didn't know where they originated.

Thanks :) No complaints at all so far. Ordered at 9:30, provisioned by 12:10. Hulu works fine (it appears to be in HD), and my Warcraft (US west coast server) has a good latency (173 ms at the moment).

Now I think the Android APK is not available in the Play Store but easily found. You can sign up without a US IP address and add your content but you do need a US IP (and possibly a US credit card) to actually browse and purchase music. There is another site too, lovefilm.com its a British site and has a 30 day free trial like Netflix and costs 4.99 pounds a month after that. Apple: Have it their way Android: Have it your way

Great list! Was there any reason you didn't mention youtube? Last time I looked there was a lot of US only content there including all of Star Trek TOS - far less than DVD quality but good for finding and sending just one scene etc.

What about the WD TV Live (2nd gen) http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=330 Seems to do the business, and for less than a PS3. Also lets you stream existing media you may have on a PC which I believe the Roku doen't. Amazon has them for $142NZ delivered.
