I would assume that the apps will become available in NZ on Monday when it officially releases. At the moment I use the Pandora app from the US store.

Can you ask if/when the Pandora App will be available on Smart TVs in NZ? I have an LG LM6200 TV and a Smart Internet connected Panasonic BluRay DMP-BDT220 Player and would like install and listen to Pandora on these.

bmoff:
Log in to your account and change your country settings to United States. This works for Squeezebox, UE Smart Radio and Sonos. I have all three and all have access to Pandora, I may have used a VPN to set-up though, I can't remember.

Unfortunately you can't change country to USA and save settings - the message comes back "We have detected that you are in a different country than you have selected. You may not have access to some music services." So the app galery doesn't refresh to non-NZ ones.

However, quite by accident, I discovered that if you type the following URL in
http://mysqueezebox.com/appgallery/Pandora you can add the app to your mysqueezebox there thereby on to your receivers/controller.

So I'm now listening to Pandora on my squeezebox duet as I type.
I'm very happy....discovered 2 new bands that sound pretty good already :-)

OK, glad you sorted it. I must have used a VPN to set it up originally. I get that message too now but it doesn't seem to matter once the settings have been saved. I had similar success with my Samsung TV, changing the country setting gave me access to Pandora and the MLB.tv app which was what I was really after.

Just had a chat with Pandora co-founder Tim Westergran, who is in Auckland for a town hall meeting with their listeners. He then goes on to Melbourne and Sydney.

I was told both the Android and iOS apps should be available in the local makretplaces in the next 48 hours.

I was also told that Pandora is the top radio in the 20 of the top 25 markets in the USA. Their local streaming partner is Voyager and the biggest problem to come into New Zealand (and any other country for that matter) is really rights negotiation.

They have one person here on the ground who will be working to create a local team and at some point have customer service as well.

Did he give any indication of if/when the Pandora app for Smart TVs etc will be available? Pandora is available in the US on TVs and Blu-ray players so I'm hoping the app will be available here on Smart TVs etc soon.

Pandora to stream from NZ data centre. Internet radio pioneer Pandora has officially relaunched its service for the Australia and New Zealand region, hosted by Auckland ISP Voyager as reported here.

I know, I just thought it was nice to see the Aussies will be getting their Pandora music via NZ too - I hadn't expected that.

Hmm the music is very compressed on the iPhone app. It didn't seem quite so bad when I was using the app before which I got from the US store. Coincidence?

Switching to iTunes Match for the same song shows just how bad the music qaulity is on Pandora. I have switched on the high qaulity setting in Pandora as well
