HAHAH, it got everyone talking, interested and potentially those who are in the market for anything HN sell then i'd say the campaign has been a sucess. I found it very interesting what everyone was wishing and hoping for.... i mean at the end of the day HN is a big box retailer and have a sale each week and this one is perhaps to ruffle the competitors for the pre christmas share of consumer spend.

the point of advertising is to get you to buy something. you didn't buy anything. It's not wonderful advertising. It's not even mediocre advertising.

Photos are 5 cents, but they use that to get people into the store anyway, and when they are discounted, you often can't get them processed on the day anyway. So it ends up being more expensive in terms of time and extra travel.

Pretty poor promotion, if it is just another sale, as what makes it different from other sales that they run very frequentyl.

Incorrect.
The point of advertising a store like Harvey's is to get you into the store.
Then, either big stacks of cheap items you can take to the counter or good sales people, will get you to part with your cash.
The ads worked if they get you in. What happens from there is out of the hands of their marketing people...

Nope. What happens when you get into the store it is still mostly marketing science. The layout, the sounds, the lights, the knowledge imparted to the sales people, the discounts, even the smells.

All part of marketing.

Sorry guys , the wonderful should have been "wonderful" sly grin and attempt at being sarcastic.

Good deal on Menalux after-market vacuum cleaner bags. $5 for a box of 5 instead of $13
