I don't use eBay much, so when I tried today i had to give verification via a text message to my phone. Put in the number and waited an hour for a txt. Nothing.

After much repeated attempts and time wasting I got a page that said "Call us at 0800-358-6552 and mention security code 1732...".

Number doesn't work.

Searched for an online Live Help. There isn't one.

Tried to find a support page in which I can email them - nothing. I need to log in anyway to see Support pages.

So now my eBay account of nearly 20yrs is suddenly gone?

Any suggestions plz?

That number is for the UK.

I’m back – took some doing. So here’s what happened……  

THIS MORNING
The email link from yesterday resulted in nothing positive. The reason for this [I found out today], is that once your eB account is frozen, then so is your email; so I was told.

Can’t recall how I found it but I went here: http://ocsnext.ebay.co.uk/ocs/cusr?query=1488&ref=1

This is the Live Help for eB UK. Oh, BTW my eB account is a UK one; I established it over 10yrs ago.

So, Live Chatted to ‘Donna’ who I figured after 15mins was not going to be of any help. Detailing the inane security qu. I was subjected to is not the point of this Post. Her resolve was to forward my request to the Security Team, from whom I’d hear from in 48hrs.

Once I figured she was a dud, I started another Live Chat in another browser at the same time and got ‘Chris’. I basically copy pasted the guts of my distress into Chris's window and added that I did not want to be given a Security Team ticket but to fix it now [please].

I was passed along to ‘Megan’. Time so far? About 30mins.

More security qu. from Megan who wasn’t happy with who I was[‘nt]. After another 10mins she was happy and my account verification was good. I could log in. Yeahhhhhh…

So I quizzed Meghan as to what happened. My account had had a request for an email address change from an ip not the same as they had on record. So, eB sent me an internal eB email to my account (which I wasn’t able to access as they’d frozen me out), just to confirm the account email address change. And then they froze the account. And as the account was frozen so to was my contact email and so - I was effectively eBay dead.

So I asked how I was supposed to know this if I couldn’t log in. She said that I couldn’t! Hence necessary to ‘find a way’ to contact eBay. Lucky i found the Live Chat page.  

THIS AFTERNOON
Back to square one……………

Tried to log in and could not. Aghhh. Another few sessions of (useless, time wasting) Live Chat I deduced that I could log into eBay.Uk and not eBay.com. Couldn’t find a friendly Live Chatter to help me (like this morning), and I’d have to complete the ‘wait for 48hrs form’.

The reply from the form I completed yesterday gave me an international number to call or recommended I use Skype – but gave no Skype address. Sheesh. So I’m left with being ok (at the moment) with the eB.uk account login.

BTW, as I type I’m waiting for Orcon (igrin) to get back to me about a website issue – looking at the phone it is showing 42mins 15sec. They close at 6pm and it is now 5.52pm

Not having a good day :-)
