How are you going to get Nespresso capsules? From the AKL store or online? I thought to create an online account you had to use a valid Nespresso machine serial number?

Don't recall doing that..may have had to indicate machine model though.

Thanks for the comments Wade.

I bought over the counter from nespresso store in Newmarket Ak. For the fun of it I will try an online sign up and report how I go

Have done a bit of web research and have come across a european brand called turmix, the DSE machine while not identical seems to share more styling cues to these than the Delonghis

I also just got one of the DSE machines (very welcome birthday gift from friends). Havent got any pods/capsules as yet so is there any recommended places to buy them in Wellington (or Hutt Valley)? From what i've seen Noel Leeming & Harvey Norman seem to have them, anywhere else? Certainly can't remember seeing them at supermarkets or the like.

Alternatively i'll also try the signup option on the website (minus serial obviously). Looking forward to getting some and trying it out - up until now have been using my manual machine which does a good job and i've learned how to get the best out of it, but it became a weekend only machine - grinding beans, heating it up, cleaning it, etc. every time after use is something that wasnt practical every morning!

(Apologies for reviving this thread again - I see it is a little old!)

You can only buy in store in Auckland or online at nespresso.com.

Hey guys ilive across the road from the Newmarket nespresso store, if anyone wanted just a couple of sleeves I'm happy to pick some up for you and post them out. Online only lets you order $50 or more I think. I recommend Roma and ristretto blends they are great the decafanato intenso is great too. I have had 2 nespresso machines they are awesome and I have spent hundreds but saved even more in bought coffees.

I order online because usually I get a hundred or so per month... But thanks. Actually I am thinking I should go to the store next time I am in AKL.

I have to say i have become a fan of the fortissimo lungo pods..

My Prima machine is still going strong, my initial impressions about the noise are unfounded, duty cycle, noise etc seem to be identical to the nespresso units

@Wade Yeah my mum works for dse said they have not had any faults with them yet which is great as they have been selling for months now.

@freitsam I was talking to one of the people at nespresso and they gave me the impression there will be a store opened in chch then Wellington so you hopefully won't need to bother one day

Soon the 2012 variations will be out hope they are better than last year. Also if you ever go to France leave plenty of room in your suit case the pods are so cheap there, I filled my case up lol.

I've seen a Nespresso coffee cart around the Paremata Inlet in Porirua serving espresso and other coffee - people here will know the location - where Mr Whippy is during weekends.

I love our Breville BES-860 at work. Means I can buy locally roasted beans rather than having to get the special Nespresso capsules, and I easily get better coffee than anywhere near by.

Nespresso owners.....
Warehouse is now selling Nespresso machine clones (possibly same as DSE ones). But more importantly they're selling capsules. Capsule packs are available in 4 strengths, they appear to originate from South Africa, and the box says they're Nespresso machine compatible. A pack of 10 capsules is $5, so about half the cost of originals.

Anyone tried them? Or have comparisons with originals?

Packaging is rather plain. I bought a pack but won't be able to try till tomorrow evening.
Capsules look the same, but casings are plastic (not foil)...

We bought some on the weekend (medium strength). The plastic covering across the capsules are a lot thicker than the foil on the Nespresso ones, and required quite a bit of force to pierce. So much so that I was concerned that prolonged use could damage our machine.

As for taste, they definitely tasted like budget capsules. Not a patch on the Nespresso range, thats for sure.

We binned them after trying one capsule, and considered it a failed experiment.
