Just finished The Hobbit....and it did not end at all like I anticipated - really looking forward to seeing the third film now.

Also just started The Road - I read half of it on a plane last year and then forgot about it. It's one of my favourite films and the book is shaping up to be just as good.

Aside from that also still reading The Walking Dead and it's fantastic.

Too many recently to remember them all. I've started getting into the Jack Reacher series. I've read two so far. 'The Visitors' and '61 Hours'. I got the latter out on Friday and finished it today.

I've just started on Ken Douglass - Carrier series. Very similar to Stephen Coonts/Dale Brown if you like navy aviation.

Working my way through the Harry Hole crime series by Jo Nesbo and another one by Camilla Läckberg.
Bit of a scandinavian crime thing at the moment.

Although they're not strictly sequential, there might be some merit in reading them in the order they were published.

Divergent Trilogy - Hunger Games Lite - young adult fiction, post apocalyptic, cool ideas that aren't really developed.

Wool Saga - Post Apocalyptic, interesting concepts, drags a bit by 3rd book, ending was a bit too easy/happy

Dracula - still reading - really enjoying.

The Passage/The Twelve - post apocalyptic, kinda different take on vampires. Really enjoyed - waiting for 3rd book.

Mither Mages Series - Orson Scott Card - really enjoyed, different take on magic and mythology - waiting for 3rd book.

You're right. But I've so far just grabbed what the library has on the shelf. I'm not even sure if they have the whole series, I'll have to check their catalogue.

Do graphic novels count? I've restarted Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman' series and have just finished Volume 6: Fables and Reflections. in which we realize Morpheus is (surprise!) not such a great Dad and, actually, a bit of a douche to his wife too.

This one is one of my favourites. So many seemingly insignificant strands from previous stories keep looping back into each other.

I've read the Divergent books, they were ok, ditto the Hunger Games. I was disappointed in the last book. I liked The Passage a lot but I'm having trouble with The Twelve.

I read Mr. Pip and it was ok. Same with The Book Thief.

Ya, that's a good book. Try Plague Dogs. http://www.amazon.com/The-Plague-Dogs-A-Novel/dp/0345494024 or Watership Down http://www.amazon.com/Watership-Down-Novel-Richard-Adams/dp/0743277708/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1391577043&sr=1-1&keywords=Water+ship+down

Be warned, they're a bit gut wrenching.

You might like Lord of the Flies too, people not animals.

I might, I think to add to the list of books read, Dr Sues series, (I got every single hard cover one ever made in the 90s) I think another kiwi one. I know these 2 guys that just read for 2-3 hours and finish a 400-500 page book in that time.

Books I read recently.

Togaf 9 Study guide
The small house book
How to think like Sherlock homes
Some Shakespeare stuff
Chaucer
French Lessons (is a cook book)
Couple of WWII biographies

Currently still reading the Togaf guide and working my way through "Hobbitvs Illae" which is the Hobbit in latin - I am a little slow on the principle that learning latin is harder than I thought.

Upcoming - there are probably a few Laurel K Hamilton books.

Do comic books count? :)

Nice, thanks for the rec! Just finished 'A dance with Dragons' - book 5 of A Song of Ice & Fire. (Game of Thrones) As usual, Martin doesn't disappoint. I do feel sometimes that the characters are held to ransom - the constant sense of 'oh no, please don't kill off yet another of my favourite characters' is starting to wear a bit thin.
