Hi,
I have just joined the forum, first post, however have been a regular visitor over the years.

We have just brought a new home which was built in the 1960's, and the wiring for the phone and internet is really bad, rough connections under the house, daisy chain, etc.... I have signed up for a Snap vdsl connection and want to get some advice / someone to help install a splitter and assist with connecting a direct line to the modem so we can start the plan to change to a "star" configuration, move to cat 5, and to make sure we are not getting any speed losses from the bad wiring.

Do you have any recommendations who can help or will I be better off calling Snap and getting some one from Chorus to come over and do it?

I am located in Northcote, Northshore, Auckland.

Thank in advance.

Yes I can do this. Sorry I haven't replied to your pm yet; been doing lots of RBI and VoIP installs over last few weeks. Will be in touch soon though. Should have a bit of time next week to do a few of these.
Cheers
Fraser

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
Geekzone special price: $150* for master splitter install, normally $200+ through your ISP. Auckland and Waikato areas.
*Travel charges may apply. Additional costs may apply for complex installs.
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, RBI Rural Broadband. Also a dealer for WorldxChange.
